This two-volume boxed set marries the Medieval with the Modern. Louis-Robert Plazolles and Jean Gradassi offer a twentieth-century illustrated adapation of the late twelfth-century witness to the Chanson de Roland, an important epic poem written, here, in Anglo-Norman French. The facsimile of Digby 23, the manuscript housed in Oxford University's Bodliean Library, accompanies the adapation.
