SECOND EDITION (250 x 170mm) pp.  206. With 44 steel engravings including a frontispiece and half title with tissue-guards, folding map (present, p. 16), misprint in list of illustrations, second illustration on p. 123 is in fact on p. 127. Text within borders. Red morocco binding with gilt camel and borders; gilt gophers. Red morocco bookplate on front paste down: “P. Emans 1849” and pink stamp on top left corner of pastedown: “Murray’s Nottingham Book Co. Ltd. Booksellers and Bookbinders, II, Victoria Street, Nothingham”. Corners of boards bumped, 20th century professional taping for strengthening to front cover interior. Top panel of spine has suffered losses. Infrequent foxing to tissue gaurds and one slightly ripped. Binding is FAIR. Interior NEAR FINE.
