YOUNG, Arthur. The Example of France A Warning to Britain. The Third Edition. Bury St Edmonds, England: Printed by J. Rackham, Stationer. For W. Richardson. 1793.

(200 x 120 mm) pp. 238. Prior owner’s bookplate to front pastedown, A J K P Pigott. Binding is nearly detached, but internally VERY GOOD condition.

Drawing parallels between the political and social conditions in France leading up to the French Revolution and the situation in Britain at the time, Young highlights the economic inequality, social unrest, and political instability that plagued France, arguing that similar factors could potentially threaten Britain's stability. He warns against neglecting the needs and grievances of the lower classes, urging the British government to address issues such as poverty, unemployment, and the widening wealth gap.
