The Sexes Compared, and Other Essays is an 1895 collection of essays by German philosopher Eduard von Hartmann that explores the differences between men and women, focusing on their mental, emotional, and social roles in the late 19th century. The book argues for recognizing unique qualities in both sexes while advocating for equality, examining topics like love, marriage, and societal expectations through a lens that sees women as more intuitive and men as more logical. It is considered a culturally significant work, often reprinted today as a historical artifact.
